Ian Johnson FRSA is a businessman living in Dorset with a long-standing interest in Victorian architecture who first became involved with the MMT following involvement with Kensal Green Cemetery.
He was born in Chester and after graduating in 1973 worked in France in the steel and oil industries for a couple of years before returning to work in London, which he did until 1999.
He has been a trustee since 1999 and treasurer from that time until 2013. He oversaw the restoration of the Heathcote mausoleum at Hursley, Hampshire, in 2005 on behalf of the trust and was instrumental in raising the funds for that project.
Now aged 67 he has retired from the business he owns and which he is in the process of handing over to the employees.
