John St Brioc Hooper

John has been connected with the Trust since its inception in 1997, becoming Secretary in 2003 when he left The National Trust.  He has always been interested in historic buildings, particularly funerary architecture and memorial sculpture.  He has travelled widely visiting cemeteries in the UK and abroad and has read extensively on the subject of the memorialisation of death and funeral customs. 

He lives in Cornwall where he is restoring a Victorian house by Silvanus Trevail, Cornwall's most famous architect.
