Coleman Mausoleum

A classical mausoleum of unusual form. Two Ionic columns support a small pediment that juts forward to shelter the doorway. The roof of this narrow upper section runs back to the rear wall. Beneath this, projecting to either side, are two rusticated blocks, providing accommodation for the coffins within. A frieze running round three sides of the upper pedimented section of the structure bears the inscription: HE THAT HEARETH MY WORD AND BELIEVETH ON HIM THAT SENT ME HATH EVERLASTING LIFT AND SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION BUT PASS FROM DEATH INTO LIFE.
